TITE2 - INCONSISTENCY BETWEEN TRANSPORT-PROPERTIES AND PHOTOEMISSION RESULTS

Electronic energy bands of metallic TiTe2 are calculated, and the transport masses (n/m) are evaluated. Comparison with the measured resistivity shows that this is an ordinary metal with a moderate electron-phonon interaction in the usual quasiparticle gas description. However, photoemission line shapes as measured by Claessen et al. are not consistent with this picture, and are used to predict a resistivity that disagrees with experiment. Similarities to high-Tc superconductors are pointed out. Possible resolutions are discussed. © 1994 The American Physical Society.
