摘要
A series of beam stop type experiments was performed with 500 MeV protons. The distributions both of induced radionuclides and of dose rate due to the residual activities were measured. Discussions to explain these distributions were done qualitatively. A clear difference in secondary flux distributions between charged particles and thermal neutrons was observed. Derived thick target cross sections were compared with the previous results. These show the natural energy dependences both in the absolute values and in the depth dependent shapes. The Faraday cup method for the beam intensity measurement was found to be applicable to the 500 MeV energy region. © 1979.
