ELECTROCHROMIC PROPERTIES OF SPIN-COATED V2O5 THIN-FILMS

摘要
A new wet process was developed for preparing a V2O5 thin film for use in an electrochromic display device. V2O5 powder was dissolved into a mixed solution of benzyl alcohol and isobutanol to obtain an organic vanadium solution, which was then spin-coated on an ITO glass. The crystalline V2O5 thin film resulting after calcination at 400-degrees-C showed excellent two-step electrochromism, deep blue<-- -->green<-- -->yellow, with its response time for obtaining DELTAOD = 0.5 being almost-equal-to 2 s. The yellow and green colors were stable for more than 20 h under open circuit conditions, white the blue one was considerably degraded within 10 h.
