SPIN-GLASS AND REENTRANT TYPE BEHAVIOR OF FE3-XMNXSI (X = 1.2, 1.5, 1.8)

摘要
The detailed low-field complex magnetic susceptibility measurements on Fe3-(x)Mn(x)Si system shows that for x = 1.2, 1.5, the system undergoes paramagnetic - ferromagnetic transition followed by a reentrant transition to a phase without long range magnetic order which is identified as a spin glass like phase. Also, we observed for the first time for x = 1.8, the spin freezing temperature T(f) almost-equal-to 67 K, which appears to be the highest spin glass transition temperature observed so far, for a metallic system containing Mn atoms. The results have been discussed in the light of existing theories and compared with other spin glass systems.
