UV AND BLUE UPCONVERSION IN TM3+-DOPED FLUOROALUMINATE GLASS BY O.655 MU-M EXCITATION

摘要
Intense upconversion fluorescence could be observed in the UV and blue region in Tm3+-doped fluoroaluminate glass in the system AlF2-CaF2-BaF2-YF3-TmF3 by single wavelength pumping with a DCM-dye laser at pump powers less than [GRAPHICS] found that the dependences of fluorescence intensity on the incident excitation power were quadratic both for 0.36 and 0.45-mu-m emission, which originates from 1D2 and for 0.48-mu-m emission from 1G4, respectively, indicating the presence of two step excitation mechanisms.
