摘要
If the Hellmann-Feynman theorem is applied to metals, using present-day Bloch-type functions, one finds a self-repulsion of the structure. A substantial concentration of electrons along the bonding directions is required if the self-repulsion is to be zero. © 1969 The American Physical Society.
