LUMINESCENCE OF ORTHORHOMBIC PBF2

摘要：

The results of a study of luminescence in orthorhombic and cubic monocrystals of PbF2 are presented in this paper. The luminescence properties of the orthorhombic structure phase of PbF2 are quite different from those of the currently well known cubic PbF2, but correlate very well with the properties of PbCl2 and PbBr2, which also have the orthorhombic structure. The explanation of the observed results on the basis of the self-trapped exciton model is suggested.
