摘要
Measurements of the line widths of OCS in the microwave region at low pressures and at room temperatures were performed applying the enancetron technique to a video spectrometer. The rotational transitions 1 → 2, 2 → 3, 3 → 4, 4 → 5, 5 → 6 and 9 → 10 were analysed and compared with the predictions of a modified Anderson-Tsao-Curnutte theory. A good agreement is obtained between our theoretical and experimental results considering dipole-dipole, dipole-quadrupole and quadrupole-quadrupole interactions. To obtain this good agreement between experimental and theoretical results, the quadrupole of OCS was assumed to be 1.35·10-26 e.s.u. © 1969 Società Italiana di Fisica.
