摘要：

Thebaine yield components of capsules and roots of selected plants from one year old Arya I (Is) and two years old ARya II (Is) populations of Papaver bracteatum Lindl. were compared. A large chemical variation was found within each population but no marked differences were found between the selections from the two populations in thebaine content of the capsules or the roots. Arya I (Is), however, exhibited a higher flowering rate during the first growing season than Arya II (Is) as well as a greater variation for the various components of the thebaine yield. Significant negative correlations were found among some of the thebaine yield components.
