摘要
The vacuum deposition of amorphous selenium on polymeric substrates is an important process in the preparation of migration-imaging film. A temperature-gradient vacuum coating device has been constructed and used to relate substrate temperature, composition and rheology, deposition rate (selenium flux) and selenium re-evaporation rate from polymer or deposited selenium to the selenium particle size, shape, position and distribution on and within the polymeric substrate. Conditions are defined at which submicron selenium particles can be formed within the polymeric substrate contiguous to the coating surface. © 1979.
