摘要
This paper explores first-year university and polytechnic students' attitudes to degrees and careers in science and technology (S/T) and the factors influencing their choices to pursue S/T or turn to alternative non-S/T areas. Students' choices and decision-making patterns provide pointers for those in schools, higher education, industry and government who wish to understand why some students are deterred from studying S/T and who may be interested in making changes which could encourage under-represented groups to pursue S/T further. © 1971, Taylor & Francis Group.
