摘要：

After four consecutive years of drought, the usual water shortage in Southern (S) Italy, due to unfavourable climate and hydromorphology, has evolved into emergency. Within a long term strategy for relieving water problems, together with other measures, effective reuse of reclaimed municipal effluents cannot be further on postponed. The paper describes available technologies, current and future strategies for agricultural reuse of municipal effluents in S. Italy, particularly in Puglia region, according to national and regional legislation.
