摘要
A vital aspect of recent efforts to strengthen K-12 geographic education in the United States has been the provision of effective in-service education. This paper documents the development, objectives, and impacts of the National Geographic Society's Teaching Geography Project, a program begun in 1988 to provide one-day workshops nationwide, in geographic alliance and in non-alliance states. Guidance is offered for geography workshop planners and presenters.
