PARAMAGNETIC RESONANCE OF ER3+ AND CE3+ IN Y2O3

摘要
The paramagnetic resonance of trivalent Er and Ce in single crystals of Y2O3 on sites of crystal field symmetry C3 i and C2 is investigated at 9.5 kMe/s. For Er3+ ions completing results to formerly published data are given. For Ce: Y2O3 the measured values of the g-tensors are:g{norm of matrix}=0.394 and g⊥=1.633 for C3 i-sites and gz=0, gx=2.938, gy=0.819 for C2-sites. For ions on sites of symmetry C2 the principal axes x and y of g are tilted 29.7° against the [100] directions. © 1969 Springer-Verlag.
