摘要
The participation of the ferrocenyl group during solvolysis of β-ferrocenylalkyl tosylates has been demonstrated by (a) the entropy of activation, (b) the difference in solvolysis rate in acetic acid and 80% aqueous acetone, (c) the effect of methyl substitution on the α-carbon, (d) the kinetic isotope effect in the solvolysis of 1,1-dideuterio-2-ferrocenylethyl tosylate, and (e) the complete retention of configuration in the solvolysis of optically active l-ferrocenyl-2-propyl tosylate. © 1969, American Chemical Society.
