FLOW DURING DROPLET SEPARATION

摘要
Flow patterns inside a separating droplet were measured by following the motion of particles which wore suspended within the droplet. For the four systems investigated, the velocity was independent of radial position and there was no internal circulation during separation. The magnitude of the velocity of the suspended particles relative to the velocity of the apex of the droplet showed that internal fluid motion probably has little influence on the shape of the profile during separation. The experimental velocity curves were approximated by an exponential function using a non-linear least squares analysis. © 1969.
