摘要
A number of models of the innovation process are briefly described. A different approach is introduced based on the characteristics of projects as measured by the uncertainty they exhibit in the outputs they will lead to and the means by which it is anticipated that these will be achieved. The combination of these variables forms a simple matrix which can be used to draw out implications for the management of innovative projects. If urgency is added to this matrix a three-dimensional model can be developed which provides valuable information for strategic analysis. Suggestions as to how this might be used are made and a number of messages for managers of innovation identified. © 1990.
