INFLUENCE OF INCREASING METHANOL CONCENTRATIONS ON ALCOHOL OXIDASE ACTIVITY IN CANDIDA-BOIDINII

摘要
In methanol-limited chemostat cultures methanol concentration > K(I) for growth decreased sharply the alcohol oxidase activity in yeast cells. This effect was accompanied by accumulation of riboflavin phosphate in the medium. Purified alcohol oxidase showed higher K(m) for methanol, change in absorbance maxima in the riboflavin area and chemical modification of enzyme structure discovered by means of partial proteolysis.
