CHEMISORPTION OF A COMPACT POLYMERIC COATING ON COPPER SURFACES FROM A BENZOTRIAZOLE SOLUTION

摘要
Cyclic voltammetry has been employed to study the electrochemical behavior of benzotriazole adsorbed on copper. The structure of the material adsorbed on copper surfaces was analyzed by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. We found that benzotriazole could react with a copper atom at zero oxidation state to form a benzotriazole copper (o) complex when copper was immersed in a benzotriazole solution. A more compact film of bisbenzotriazolato copper(II), which shows better anticorrosion effects for copper, was formed when cyclic voltammetry was applied. © 1990.
