FACILITATING DATA TRANSFER AND IMPROVING PRECISION IN CAPILLARY ZONE ELECTROPHORESIS WITH MIGRATION INDEXES

摘要
A migration index and an adjusted migration index for capillary zone electrophoresis (CZE) are introduced. Use of the indices makes possible the transfer of migration data obtained with different constant or gradient potentials. Results from capillaries with distinct lengths, inner diameters, and zeta potentials can also be related. Furthermore, improvement in the precision of migration data is realized. The performances of the migration indices, migration time, relative migration and electrophoretic mobility are compared in typical analytical runs, and the relative merits and drawbacks of each indicator are discussed.
