QUARK DROPLET FORMATION IN A NEUTRON-STAR CORE IN THE PRESENCE OF A STRONG MAGNETIC-FIELD

摘要
The effect of a strong magnetic field on the thermal nucleation of quark droplets at the core of a neutron star is investigated. The surface energy of the quark phase diverges logarithmically and as a consequence there cannot be any thermal nucleation of the quark droplet. The effect of a strong magnetic field on the curvature term is also studied. The curvature term also diverges. © 1995 The American Physical Society.
