ELECTROCHROMISM IN NB-V AND CR-V MIXED-OXIDES

摘要
The electrochromic behavior of reactively sputtered mixed-oxide films of Nb-V and Cr-V has been characterized for the Li insertion reaction. Spectral coloration efficiency measurements from 300 to 1650 nm show that Nb-V oxides exhibit anodic coloration in the near-UV and weak cathodic coloration from 400 to 600 nm. Cr-V oxides show weak anodic coloration in the 300 to 700 nm spectral region. Both Nb-V and Cr-V mixed oxides are electrochromically inactive in the near-infrared. Variable transmittance electrochromic devices based on combinations of NbV-oxide or CrV-oxide with a-LixWO3 (a = amorphous) have been fabricated and their optical switching characterized.
