摘要
By the use of polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, the presence of five φX174 specific proteins has been shown in ultraviolet-irradiated φX-infected cells. An additional protein is resolved by electrophoresis of dissociated phage particles. Four of these six proteins are components of the phage coat and have molecular weights of 48,000, 36,000, 19,000 and about 5000. The other two proteins are the products of cistrons I (lysis) and V (required for single-stranded DNA synthesis) and have molecular weights of 10,000 and 15,000 respectively. The cistron VI protein, which is necessary for parental replicative form replication, was not detected. © 1969.
