DYNAMICS OF MACROMOLECULAR SOLUTIONS

Applications of photon correlation spectroscopy to the dynamics of macromolecular solutions in terms of translational and rotational Brownian motions and of internal segmental motions of polymer coils are reviewed for the two-year period from about mid 1976. In particular, studies of the effects of polydispersity and of internal motions of DNA are summarized and the newer techniques related to further refinements of photon correlation spectroscopy explored. Related techniques including lateral transport by the fluorescence photobleaching recovery method and laser Doppler spectroscopy as related to electrophoretic mobility are described. © 1979 IOP Publishing Ltd.
