AN INVESTIGATION OF BARIUM OXALATE BY COMBINED DERIVATOGRAPHIC AND THERMO-GAS ANALYSIS

摘要
The thermal decomposition of barium oxalate was investigated in a nitrogen atmosphere, by a combined derivatographic and thermo-gas analytical method. In contrast to studies conducted in air, a portion of the carbon monoxide formed in the nitrogen atmosphere during the decomposition of oxalate, undergoes further decomposition to yield carbon dioxide and carbon. At higher temperatures, the liberated carbon reacts with barium carbonate, and carbon monoxide and barium oxide are formed. © 1969.
