THE PHASES AND DYNAMICS OF SUCCINONITRILE - AN NMR ABSORPTION-LINE STUDY

摘要
A proton wide line n.m.r. study of solid succinonitrile has been undertaken using a high field F.T. spectrometer. A composite line has been observed in the rigid phase II in contrast with a previous finding. In phase I the absorption spectrum is dominated by the self diffusion process. The apparent activation energy of this process was found to agree with the value obtained by tracer measurements in polycristalline samples. Crystalline succinonitrile continuously looses its solid-like properties from 240 to 331 K until melting occurs.
