摘要
Monocular acquisition and interocular transfer of learned discrimination habits involving stimuli differing either in orientation or in shape of contour were measured in 10 corpus callosum-sectioned and 10 sham-operated hooded rats. Commissurotomy did not impair acquisition of either type of discrimination, but in both cases resulted in a significant though small reduction in transfer. Both discriminations transferred completely in shams. These findings are consistent with previous interpretations of the neural mechanisms underlying interocular transfer in rodents and higher mammals. However, they indicate an important limitation on the generality of a recent study showing serious impairment of pattern discrimination acquisition in callosum-sectioned rats.
