摘要:
In a previous article the use of turbulence-promoting agents (fluidized particles) to minimize polarization effects during ultrafiltration of protein solutions (gelatin) with a ceramic (alumina) tubular membrane was investigated, with a view to both quantifying performance improvement and analyzing basic transport mechanisms. This paper examines ultrafiltration in the presence of an electric field, the so-called 'electro-ultrafiltration' process, under the same experimental conditions. Membrane, products and methods were identical to those in the previous study.
