摘要
The incidence and development of the protozoan parasite, Nosema pyrausta (Paillot), in field populations of the European corn borer, Ostrinia nubilalis (Hbn.), is documented for 2 Nebraska counties over a 16-yr period. In one county, N, pyrausta reached epizootic proportions twice and in the other the relationship was mojstly enzootic. The epizootic development followed periods of increasing host density. Reduced ECB populations and larval weights followed epizootic peaks attesting to the debilitating and mortal effects of N. pyrausta on the host. © 1979 Entomological Society of America.
