摘要
Researchers are often faced with the need to choose the correct statistical technique for a given data analysis problem. There are a number of criteria that should be used to guide them in making the choice: their research questions, the nature of the variables involved, the sample size, and the distributional behavior of the data, among others. This article provides guidelines on the nature of the study variables, which will help researchers select the proper statistical technique. Of course, all statistical techniques have certain underlying assumptions, which must be checked before the technique is applied.
