ACCURATE FREE-VIBRATION ANALYSIS OF THE COMPLETELY FREE ORTHOTROPIC RECTANGULAR PLATE BY THE METHOD OF SUPERPOSITION

The method of superposition is exploited to obtain highly accurate analytical type solutions for the free vibration of completely free orthotropic rectangular plates. Eigenvalues for 12 modes are provided for a particular set of problems, representative of reinforced concrete and similar materials, for a wide range of plate aspect ratios. While it is recognized that data covering the entire range of possible problems cannot be tabulated, it is hoped that the data provided will prove useful to some designers and provide a reference for other researchers to compare their results. This appears to be the first study devoted to this problem to appear in the literature. © 1993 Academic Press Limited.
