PRESSURE BROADENING IN THE 6190 A VIBRATION-ROTATION BAND OF METHANE

摘要
A tunable dye laser coupled with photoacoustic detection has been utilized to obtain the pressure broadening coefficient of the 6196.82 Å line in the 6190 Å vibration-rotation band of CH4. The pressure broadening coefficient was found to be 0.086 ± 0.006 cm-1/atm. This is in close agreement with similar lines in the fundamental and lower overtone bands of CH4 and provides some information about trends in collisional interactions with increasing vibrational excitation. © 1979.
