ADDITIONAL RESULTS FOR THE EFFECT OF SOLIDIFICATION PARAMETERS ON SPACING BETWEEN PRIMARY SILICON PARTICLES IN HYPEREUTECTIC AL-SI ALLOYS

摘要
Further results are presented that support the relationship lambdaG1/2V1/4 Constant for spacing lambda between primary silicon particles as a function of temperature gradient G and growth velocity V in solidification of hypereutectic Al-Si alloys. It is also shown that the body of such results correlate with measurements from continuous cooling studies to give lambdaT1/3 equal to 250 +/- 30 mum (K/s)1/3 for the range of cooling rate T between 10(-2) and 10(6) K/s.
