A COLORIMETRIC METHOD FOR ESTIMATING SERUM TRIGLYCERIDES

摘要：

A colorimetric method for the estimation of serum glycerides is presented. The glycerol released by saponification of the serum glycerides is oxidized to formaldehyde which reacts with acetylacetone to form a yellow dihydrolutidine derivative absorbing at 405 mμ. The results correlate well with those given by the ZilversmitVan Handel method. Values for normal subjects range between 40-155 mg triolein per 100 ml (1.36-5.25 mequiv/1), the difference between the mean values for males and females being statistically significant by Student's t test. © 1968.
