摘要
The Project Independence Evaluation System (PIES) is a large scale, process oriented mathematical model which integrates the various supply and demand components of the US energy system. In this paper we consider the conceptual basis for modelling both the supply and demand for electricity within the PIES framework. One of the central issues is the methodology for approximating the nonlinear load curve within a linear framework. A prototype example of the full-scale model is developed so that the basic assumptions and methodology can be readily explained. © 1979 IPC Business Press Ltd.
