摘要
An ion mobility spectrometer designed for use with a pulsed ultra-violet laser ionization source is described and details of its performance with samples of naphthalene and phenanthrene are given. The dependence of the ion yield on laser intensity has been examined and compared with the predictions of a mechanism for ion formation by two-photon laser ionization.
