BATHYMETRY OF THE NORTHEAST ATLANTIC - CONTINENTAL-MARGIN AROUND THE BRITISH-ISLES

A new bathymetric chart of the northeast Atlantic that includes the continental margins west of the British Isles is presented. The distribution of the shallow plateaux and deep troughs that comprise much of the area reflects the polyphase rifting and spreading history of the North Atlantic Ocean. The present physiography of the area owes much to differential deposition and distribution of sediments by ocean bottom currents. © 1979.
