摘要
Raman spectra are reported for some tetrahedral, tetrahalo-anions of FEIII, MnII, FeII, and ZnII in the solid state, as tetra-alkylammonium salts, and, for many of them, in nitromethane solution. The v1 (A1) mode has been assigned in all cases, and force constants have been calculated, using a modified Urey-Bradley force field, for solid MCl4n- salts (M Fe3+, Mn2+, Fe2+, and Zn2+), and, using literature data, for solid Cs2ZnX4 (X Cl, Br, and I) and ZnX42- (X Br or I) in aqueous solution. The Raman spectra of various salts containing the distorted tetrahedral CuCl42- ion are also reported. © 1968.
