摘要
The occurrence of epitheliocystis as a chronic, non-pathogenic condition in the wild amberjack, Seriola dumerili Risso, is reported. The ultrastructure of the epitheliocystis agents is described, revealing their affinity with the Chlamydiae of higher vertebrates. The role of the mitochondria-rich chloride cell as the epitheliocystis host cell is discussed.
