ASYMPTOTIC POTENTIALS AND COUPLING TERMS OF EXCITED SODIUM ATOMS IN THERMAL COLLISIONS

摘要
A possible mechanism is derived for the nonresonant transfer of electronic excitation energy by the thermal collisions of two 3P-excited sodium atoms. Adiabatic molecular terms are built up for large interatomic distances. Some pseudo-crossing points are found and their contributions to the cross section for excitation transfer are determined. © 1979.
