摘要
Blocking of the α-amino groups by cyanate inhibits the uptake of CO2 by haemoglobin. It also inhibits the influence which changes in pCO2 at constant pH normally have on the oxygen affinity and on the Bohr effect. Blocking the α-amino groups of the α chain reduces the alkaline Bohr effect by 25 per cent. © 1969 Nature Publishing Group.
