摘要
The addition of inorganic electrolytes or of cationic, low-molecular-mass, high-charge or high-molecular-mass, low-charge polymers to a well-dispersed clay suspension creates particle interactions leading to increased viscosity of the suspension and higher void fraction, light scattering, and fluid absorption in the dry film, but reduced gloss. The flow curves are interpreted using Hunter's approach to flow of flocculated systems. The concept of critical concentration is reviewed. © 1990.
