RED-TO-BLUE UP-CONVERSION SPECTROSCOPY OF TM3+ IN SRF2, CAF2, BAF2 AND CDF2

摘要
A spectroscopic study of the blue emission from different Tm3+ centres of SrF2, CaF2, BaF2 and CdF2 crystals for CW red excitation by a single dye laser is presented. Our observations suggest that the cubic Tm3+ centres are excited by an avalanche process rather than by a sequential two-photon process.
