ENERGY STRAGGLING OF PROTONS IN NICKEL

摘要
Straggling of protons in nickel in the energy range between 0.4 MeV and 2.6 MeV was measured for different absorber thickness. No energy dependence of the straggling width could be detected for thin absorbers and the results are in good agreement with the Bohr theory. For a thick absorber the dependence on the energy loss was found to be appreciably stronger than expected. This latter effect might be due to nuclear collisions which are neglected in the theory. © 1979.
