DIMERS AND THERMAL DIFFUSION FACTOR AT SLIGHTLY ELEVATED PRESSURES

摘要
In an earlier letter1) we presented the results for an approximate theory in which the influence of dimers (double molecules) A2 on the thermal diffusion factor was discussed for mixtures of A and B. In this paper the derivation of this theory and a more general one are given in which A and B may form dimers A2, B2 and AB. We have measured separations in the mixtures CO2/Ar, Kr/CO2, C2H4/N2 and Ar/He as a function of pressure and composition. The theoretical and experimental results are compared. Semi-quantitative agreement is obtained. © 1969.
