摘要
Des-PheB1-insulin, a cristalline analogue of beef insulin. Beef insulin was reacted with inactive and 14C-labeled phenylisothiocyanate in a molar ratio of 1:2 and the reaction products were separated by preparative electrophoresis. The main component was almost exclusively substituted at the phenylalanine amino group and gave des-PheB1-insulin upon treatment with trifluoroacetic acid. The mono- and disubstituted derivatives and the des-Phe-analogue were characterized through specific radioactivity, UV-spectrum, electrophoresis, paper chromatography, oxydative sulfitolysis, and endgroup determinations. Des-PheB1-insulin crystallizes like insulin, is biologically fully active and immunologically identical with insulin. © 1969, IEEE. All rights reserved.
