摘要
The microstructure of a rapidly solidified Mn//4Si alloy is studied by electron diffraction and high resolution lattice imaging. A new two-dimensional octagonal quasicrystal is found together with 45 degree microdomains of beta -Mn, similar to the case of Cr-Ni-Si and V-Ni-Si reported earlier. In addition, an ordered Mn//3Si and a metastable Mn//1//2Si//5 also occur and the close structural relationship between them is discussed.
