摘要
Fast bistable wavelength switching between two longitudinal modes separated by 1.7 nm is achieved in a two-electrode distributed feedback laser with strongly inhomogeneous excitation. As a result, fast wavelength switching time less than 200 ps is successfully observed in this device. In addition, high-speed repetitive wavelength switching operation up to 1 GHz is also achieved, which indicates that this device is capable of repetitive fast wavelength switching within 1 ns, including delay time and rise time. © 1990 IEEE
