The microwave spectrum, structure, dipole moment, and N-14 nuclear quadrupole coupling constant of acetonitrile-N-oxide

摘要
The microwave spectrum of acetonitrile N-oxide shows that the molecule is a symmetric top. The spectrum of the common isotopic species, both C-13 species. the N-15 and O-18 species have been assigned leading to the r(S) geometry of all heavy atoms. The nitrogen quadrupofe coupling constant is found to be 490 KHz. From, the Stark effect the dipole moment is 1.50 x 10(-29) Cm ( 4.49 D). The significance of the observed NO bond length and other properties is dicussed in relation to the electronic structure of this bond.
