摘要
Five sources of wavefront aberration for rotating liquid mirrors are investigated: the Earth's curvature, Coriolis force, and gravitational field gradient perpendicular to the mirror surface, symmetry axis misalignment, and lunar tides. Coriolis effects provide the single largest perturbation, introducing correctable astigmatic and pseudocomatic images of up to 10" in diameter for a typical 10 m class mirror. The curvature of the Earth, gravitational field gradient, and lunar tides all have negligible effects on the surface of the liquid mirror. Small axis misalignments do not introduce any wavefront aberration.
